"...Always be ready to give an explanation to anyone
who asks you for a reason for your hope, but do it
with gentleness and reverence..."
(1 Peter 3:15-16)

"Not 100 in the United States hate the Roman
Catholic Church, but millions hate what they
mistakenly think the Roman Catholic Church is."

-- the late Bishop Fulton J. Sheen

In my life as a Catholic, I have encountered many loving and well-intentioned Protestants who honestly believed that they should show me (or "save me" from) the "false teachings" of the Roman Catholic Church. The purpose of this website is to give a more accurate and complete explanation of the teachings of the Catholic Church, and to show readers why we believe it. Roman Catholicism offers its followers the fullness of Christian Truth (without shortening or omitting any of the important theological "details"). St. Paul tells the Christians at Corinth that there is "one Lord, one faith, [and] one baptism." He very clearly states that there is "one Lord" (Jesus Christ), "one faith" (the Church set up by Jesus that holds a distinct set of beliefs) and "one baptism," which was started by Jesus Christ is his time on earth.

Obviously, there are scores of different Christian denominations, most with their leaders/deacons/pastors holding Ph.D's in Scripture, all claiming to be "led by the Holy Spirit" in their "plain, straightfoward interpretation of the Bible." Of course, the teachings of these denominations differ greatly in many crucial doctrinal issues. [note: I do not think that ONLY Catholics are led by the Holy Spirit. However, I do believe that we have the fullness of Christian truth.]

There are many contradictory interpretations of the same Scriptures. Thus, it is very clear the the Bible is not self-interpreting. The basic question boils down to "Who have you given the authority to interpret the Bible for you?" Since all Christians should desire to follow Jesus as truthfully as possible, he should strive to be apart of the "one faith" that Jesus implemented. This website will show that the Catholic Church has the fullness of the objective truth proclaimed by Jesus and the Apostles 2000 years ago.

Please note that these ideas are not my own. Since the Church has been around for 2000 years, there are not many "new ideas" that I could think of. Instead, I am compiling evidence and quotes from other people. Much of this site is taken from the book Unabridged Christianity, written by Fr. Mario Romero. Other quotes come from Catholic convert Tim Staples's book Nuts and Bolts, Patrick Madrid's Surprised by Truth and Any Friend of God's Is a Friend of Mine, and Karl Keating's What Catholics Really Believe. I strongly recommend that you read all of these books. I will try as much as possible to give credit where credit is due.

Now, lets take a closer look at the Catholic faith.
